Medical Terminology

If you are currently working or desire to work in the medical field, Medical Terminology is very
important. But learning medical words can be overwhelming. They are not part of everyday
english, and can be long and complex.

This course is designed to help the student analyze medical words into their word elements- prefixes,
suffixes or roots. Defining the word elements results in defining the medical words. Learning to
combine and recombine the word elements into medical words is an integral component of the
Medical Terminology course.

As part of the course outline, you will learn anatomy, physiology and pathology as it relates to
medical terminology. The course is taught in a system by system approach. Utilizing the computer
as a teaching aid further helps the student in understanding the complex terms and their definitions.

The course is 5 weeks in length. Daytime and evening classes are available. Textbook and all other
materials used in the classroom are included in the tuition.
